Franklin's Neighborhood
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Average review score:

Nice thought to give to 5 and 6 year olds..My Kindergartners and I read your book today. What a nice thought. We are learning about our world this month to intergrate the thoughts of why people would consider moving to a new world(the Pilgrims) so we are starting out with the thought of what is a neighborhood? and then proceeding to families and friends--so you started it for us. Thanks.

Franklin's Pet Problem (Franklin Board Book, 1)
Published in Hardcover by Scholastic (June, 2000)
Average review score:

Great for little hands!I was excited to find a Franklin book in a board book. My nephew is a big fan, but only one, so it's great to have found a board book. The story is really cute. Franklin wants a pet because he only has a fake one. He takes suggestions from friends and family, but finally makes the decision himself. The book included most of Franklin's closest buddies, which the little fans will love. Each flap added to the suspense of which friend he's going to ask, and what pet they would suggest. It was fun making all of the animal noises as we read each new suggestion. I'm glad Franklin made his own mind up in the end! Very cute!

Franklin's School Play
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Average review score:

Franklin is cute and entertainingFranklin's School Play is a cute and entertaining book. I enjoyed it very much. It is about a young turtle named Franklin who has a main role in his school's Christmas play, The Nutcracker. The day before the the opening night, Franklin gets so nervous that he can't speak. But, fortunately, he later gains his confidence and does great in the main performance. I think the book teaches kids that it's ok to be afraid sometimes, and that one can succeed if he or she works hard. It is also a great story to put a person in the Christmas mood.

Franklin's Special Blanket (Franklin, 4)
Published in Hardcover by Scholastic (November, 2000)
Average review score:

Franklin's Special BlanketI recently had my 3 and 5 year old grandchildren move back into my house and had a terrible time getting them to go to bed. The first night I read this to them a two hour ordeal became ten minutes. The three year old slept with the book in her arms and carried it out her bed in the morning. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Fresh Bread Companion
Published in Paperback by Brick Tower Pr (October, 2000)
Average review score:

IT'S LIKE EATING A MEMORYFRESH BREAD COMPANION was written to capture a place, a time and a feeling. As I tried each bread I felt as if Liz Clark was my companion. As I tasted each one I thought of a place, time and feeling of memory. When my niece tasted the Prune and Almond Whole Wheat Bread, her statement was, "This is like eating a memory." "This smells, tastes, and feels like Granny's bread." Although the recipes reflect current local tastes and European rather than standard fare from the good old days, it is that essence of "Home" as a dynamic place of warmth in memory thatis conveyed to the reader. The book arrived recently and had my mouth watering. I wanted to rush into the kitchen and fire up the oven after reading through recipes like Sour Dough French, Rustic Baguettes, Cracked Wheat, and Olive and Walnut. Now that I have tried them I hope to be Liz Clark's companion through other cookbooks.

The Frog Princess

This is a great bookI've taught 3rd to 5th grade classes, and the students always love this book. The story is well told, and the pictures are wonderfully done. I've had to buy it three times now, because students who like it too much keep stealing it! I don't know why this isn't in print anymore; it drives me crazy, trying to find copies of it. Next time I'm going to put it in a safe...

From Father to Son: Showing Your Boy How to Walk With Christ
Published in Paperback by Navpress (October, 2002)
Average review score:

Father knows bestWhat a great book. Chap Clark shares the wise advice and insight he has gained over the last twenty years of parenting and parental counseling. These real life examples are extremely valuable and heartening. He begins with discipleship, provides goals to check your progress, and guides you to ultimately loving your sons, no matter the path they take, as Christ loves us, where we are. This book will challenge you to accept the difficulties of fatherhood, as we are challenged to accept the emulation of Christ in our lives. Chap Clark's strength is his humble writing style. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
